The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, visited the 9/11 Memorial and Museum in New York early this morning, and paid homage to the victims of the deadly terror attack that took place on September 11, 2001.

Addressed the 69th session of the UN General Assembly. Highlighted the need for reform and rejuvenation of the UN. Next year the UN turns 70 and we need to take this as an opportunity to bring about the various positive changes. Why is it that despite having such a wonderful platform like the UN we have the various G platforms? We need to move towards 'G-All' and see how the UN can be made even more effective.

On the issue of terrorism, I made it clear that no country in the world is safe from it. We need to adopt the Comprehensive Convention on Global Terrorism as the matter has been pending for long.

I spoke about India's firm belief in the philosophy 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' and talked about the strength of Yoga. I gave the idea of celebrating a day as International Yoga

Had a meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu in New York City. We agreed to further strengthen India-Israel relations and enhance cooperation in areas such as defence, agriculture, trade etc.

The programme at Madison Square Garden was overwhelming. It was very special to interact with members of the diaspora. A big thank you. Through their hardwork, actions & strong values, the Indian American community has earned immense respect.We are very proud of them.

Series of initiatives announced announced for the Indian American community will deepen their bond with India & make travel a lot easier. Also urged Indian-American community to support our efforts towards a Clean Ganga ,which would be a historic transformation for India.
